What are Jason’s Health Credentials?

Firstly, I am not a trained doctor, nutritionist or naturopath. I have no degree or doctorate of any kind. I just hated being sick badly enough to do something radical about it. My expertise comes from walking the talk in the real world – not in theory. My knowledge comes from over 30 years’ of health education and research; over 30 years’ raising four healthy kids and one darling granddaughter; 20 years’ travelling internationally and teaching; appearing via requests on TV, radio and in magazines; 20 years’ presenting seminars about food, nutrition and health; and 25 years compiling all of this passion and study into this website, my books and research papers. Through this journey I have become a health researcher, coach, speaker and best-selling author.

I have trained experts
I now find myself regularly training naturopaths and having intelligent highly trained doctors, dietitians, pharmacists, herbalists and clinical nutritionists taking my advice on food and diet or asking me for my opinion on health matters. I have lost count of how many times I have been asked, “What did you do to cure all your health problems?” My advice is based on tens of thousands of hours study on millions of different people from countries all over the world. Also my first-hand experience over many years working closely with thousands of people right here in NZ and in 13 different countries around the world to transform their health. Once I completely cured all my own illnesses, and stayed well, and what I had learned started to make a genuine difference to others, it became crystal clear to me that the challenge modern medicine has is that it offers pills and procedures after you get sick. My aim is to offer prevention before you get sick, and in doing so, to give you exceptional health.

I am a permanent student
When studying something you must do a few things well. Observe, gather evidence, form a hypothesis, research your findings, look at history, follow a variety of human experience, double-check, and use your common sense and intelligence. Then report back. This is what I have done. Observation, not lead by emotion or money, is the foundation of every science. Science is meant to be a reporting or uncovering of the truth for the wellbeing of humanity. You do not have to be a scientist to observe and draw conclusions. I have observed people. I have known people to live long healthy lives into their 100s without disease or the need for drugs. I have read about thousands of people who lived long, healthy lives without disease or drugs. I observed and studied their habits, their commonalities, what they did, and what they did not. I have looked at large population groups (epidemiological studies), centenarians, traditional cultures, food habits, the Mediterranean diet, the Asian diet, the caveman diet and much more.

I have looked at the science and the scientific research on people and how they live all over the world. This is how I came to my conclusions and healed myself. This is the basis of my knowledge. I continue to study, learn, research, analyse and make conclusions every day. This is my life. As Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine SAID “He who does not know food, how can he understand the diseases of man?”

Dr Luke Wilson, one of the key authors on the internationally-recognised BROAD study (the most successful randomised, non-exercise and non-calorie restricted weight loss study ever done), recommends my work, education and books. I have presented to large groups of highly educated, university trained pharmacists and chemists (some who were so enthusiastic about what I talked through that they swamped me for hours asking for help with their diets…). I also present to, and train, chiropractors, nutritionists, dieticians and nurses, in how to eat well and get their health back. These many and varied professionals are far more ‘learned and trained’ than I but they come to me and ask me to support them and mentor them as they have lost touch with what it actually is to eat well.

I have helped many highly trained health professionals who are busy, stressed, overweight, obese, with high blood pressure, constipation, cholesterol problems, heart problems, and energy problems and skin problems, and who are often sick with colds and bugs. They simply ask me to help to support them in getting well through simple common sense diet and lifestyle changes. I am simply a human being with a passion for health who may have something worthwhile and meaningful to share. Just because one knows information or has studied information, does not make them an expert or make them change their behaviours. I am not university trained but I seem to have a way of deeply reaching people.

There is a vast amount of evidence that eating a plant-based wholefood diet lowers, and in some cases, reverses, heart disease and hypertension.
