After digestion, all foods report to the kidneys, leaving either an acid or an alkaline ash behind. This gets deposited in your tissues. The kidneys are responsible for fluid balance and maintaining a relatively neutral pH in the body. This is how the foods you eat affect your acid-alkaline balance. When you eat high-acid foods, the kidneys try to immediately buffer that acidity. The quality of our blood is the quality control of the body. Fish only survive in an exact pH level of seawater. The liquid you live in is your blood. The blood, cellular liquids and all the body fluids are alkaline. The organs in the body are more acidic. The health of the blood is all pervading and absolutely critical to your entire health profile. The blood washes everything, it cleans everything and it transports and builds everything; health, muscle and strength.
Acidity removes your calcium stores from the body
When the body is acidic, bones release calcium and magnesium to re-establish alkalinity, and muscles are broken down to produce ammonia, which is highly alkaline. Your phosphate buffer system uses different phosphate ions in your body to neutralise strong acids. About 85% of these phosphate ions come from calcium phosphate salts that are stored in your bones and teeth. When the body is balanced, silica, sodium and magnesium are used to re-calcify the bones. Once this process is completed, your bone minerals and broken-down muscle leftovers are excreted in urine. Thus, eating a highly acidic diet leads to calcium deposits and kidney stones. Long-term acidity leads to thinner bones and lower muscle mass as calcium and magnesium losses suck the minerals out of the body.
Disease cannot exist in an alkaline state
Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for showing that cancer grows rapidly in acidic anaerobic (without oxygen) conditions. Many holistic doctors and nutritionists consider a properly balanced alkaline diet to be the most critical factor in optimal health, energy, longevity and preventing diseases such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, diabetes and osteoporosis. The one thing that is very clear is that the more acidic you are, the more the body sucks calcium directly from the bones to protect and balance your blood¹-⁴. High animal-protein diets are a classic example of calcium being excreted straight out in the urine⁵.
Stay acidic and you will get sick; it is just a matter of ‘when’…
Illness, inflexibility and disease thrive in an acid environment. Health and vitality is encouraged in an alkaline environment because alkaline tissue holds 20 times more oxygen than acidic tissue. Oxygen is cancer’s enemy.
Cancer grows in a low-oxygen environment so keep yourself oxygenated and slightly alkaline-balanced.
