Start with more plants and then work with the individual. What seems to work for most people is to dramatically cut back or give away the modern high-meat, sugar-rich, highly-processed and low-fibre foods. Then change their food and nutrition mix by introducing the centenarian health-giving staple foods; superfood legumes, wholegrains, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. Then change sleep patterns, routines and habits. That said, I do find that, on the whole, most people respond really well to less or no processed and refined foods, more real foods, more wholefoods and the bottom line; more plants.
I am a permanent student of health
I have looked at the science and the scientific research on people and how they live all over the world. This is how I came to my conclusions and healed myself. This is the basis of my knowledge. I continue to study, learn, research, analyse and make conclusions every day. This is my life. As Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine said “He who does not know food, how can he understand the diseases of man?”
My philosophy is historical, inclusive and ever evolving
My advice is for everyone and anyone who is interested in exceptional health. There is no specific religious or spiritual base to my advice. You can participate if you eat meat, eat dairy products, are a vegetarian or a raw vegan, are an athlete, are of any race or creed, are overweight, are unwell, are a herbivore, carnivore, omnivore, have food allergies, or if you just want to learn more about food. Different foods work for different people so it is about significantly increasing your local vegetation intake and working with basic principles until you get the mix that is perfect for you.
People are different
Some people need more protein, some need more fat and some cannot eat tomatoes (for example). This is part of the human race and the genetic challenge we all have in finding the perfect diet/lifestyle for ourselves and our children. My advice is designed to welcome you from wherever you are now and expose you to a more plant-based, wholefood lifestyle, and all the benefits that come with it. If you want to eat a high amount of animal protein, meat, chicken and dairy products, with low levels of wholegrains and legumes (such as the typical ‘Paleo Diet’), then my advice will probably not work well for you. A ‘high-meat-low-wholegrains’ type diet is not really compatible with my plant-based wholefoods philosophy so if the ‘high animal protein/high fat diet’ is your interest then I encourage you to find someone credible who is teaching this.
Wipe on, wipe off…
Some things I recommend may seem controversial or downright loopy (“What do you mean, stop eating for a day?!”). I only suggest them because in my experience and the experience of millions of people before me; they work. Consider that some things you currently think or even believe to be “THE TRUTH” about food or your health actually may not be. The internet has a lot of very bad nutritional advice all over it. Getting well, transforming your level of health and maintaining new healthy habits, for most people, will take between 6-18 months of hard work and behaviour change. This is not my opinion; this just seems to be the way the human body works. Given we are dealing with human beings and we know that 97% of the body is rebuilt every 12 months, then a longer duration is the best way for genuine, long-term results.
I provide the education, recipes and inspiration; you provide the hard work. I give you the tools; I inspire you, educate you and suggest Tracey’s delicious high-fibre, plant-based, wholefood recipes. The rest is up to you. I advocate total self-responsibility when it comes to your health. You may have to consider a different point of view for my advice to work for you. My advice is based on literally millions of human years of evidence of what works for most human beings; regardless of blood type, body type, constitutional type, race, faith or creed.
My underlying philosophy is that I want you to live a long, healthy life without drugs or disease.
It really is that simple.
GOLDEN Rule 1: Be Prepared and Control your Environment
GOLDEN Rule 2: Deal with the Body you have
GOLDEN Rule 3: Honour Thy Bowel
GOLDEN Rule 4: Give up what Weakens You
GOLDEN Rule 5: Read Ingredients Panels (RIP) or Rest in Peace
