We often mistake pleasure for happiness. Happiness is internal. Pleasure (though as wonderful as it is and an essential part of the human experience), is external and can become addictive and reduce happiness. So how do we genuinely get happier?
The exercise summary is simply; walk, swim, stretch, lift heavy things and occasionally sprint like your life depends on it! We evolved through: walking, running, throwing, swimming, jumping, carrying and climbing. So walk, sprint, lift weights, stretch and swim.
Change your habits now! Clean out your cupboard and fridge and change your environment. You need to alter the environment you are in, such that it serves you rather than poisons you. This is a critical fundamental part of getting and staying well.
