Breast cancer and saturated fat linked again in 2014

Regardless of what good press you have heard about saturated fat, the science keeps showing the links between a diet high in animal fats and deadly diseases.

What has the highly respected European Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) research recently found?

  1. High dietary intake of total fat and saturated fat is associated with increased risk for estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer
  1. High dietary intake of total fat and saturated fat is associated with increased risk for progesterone-receptor-positive breast cancer
  1. High dietary intake of total fat and saturated fat is associated with increased risk for HER2-negative breast cancer
  1. Of the 7,860 women studied, those with the highest saturated fat intake had a significantly increased risk of all three breast cancer types
