I do not recommend you ever buy these and certainly never allow them into your home.
“Our study suggests an association between higher diet drink consumption and mortality”
Study leader Dr. Ankur Vyas, a cardiovascular disease expert at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic,
Researchers presented the 2014 data from the Women’s Health Initiative to the American College of Cardiology’s 63rd Annual Scientific Session meeting.
They compared women who drink two soft/soda/fizzy/pop drinks per day to women who did not drink any at all, and found:
- Women drinking the soft/soda/fizzy/pop drinks were 30% more likely to develop heart disease
- Women drinking the soft/soda/fizzy/pop drinks were 50% more likely to die
- About 20% of Americans consume diet drinks daily according to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2009-2010)
