Experts slam the stupid and widely reported ‘obesity leads to longevity’ study

Good to see so many doctors coming out and saying how silly this latest ‘eat as much as you like and you will live longer’ study is.

The study, from the Journal of the American Medical Association, suggested that the overweight people were less likely to die prematurely than people with a “healthy” weight.

This statement has caused controversy among many obesity experts who were very critical of the dubious research methods.

Prof John Wass, vice-president of the Royal College of Physicians College, said that “the largest people will have died years earlier” and he pointed to health problems, heart attacks and far higher levels of death from Type II diabetes.

Doctor Walter Willett from the Harvard School of Public Health said that the findings of the study are an even greater pile of rubbish than a study conducted by the same group in 2005.

The BBC has reported that one expert labelled the findings a “horrific message” to put out.

I agree, ignore this study as the bogus mistake that it is.
