Energy drinks make you tired
Study finds soldiers who are drinking the most energy drinks are falling asleep at their posts…
The researchers found that of those with the highest intake of energy drinks (three or more drinks per day), over 40% said:
- They slept no more than 4 hours nightly
- They were twice as likely to fall asleep on guard duty
- They were twice as likely to fall asleep in briefings
Unsurprisingly the authors advocated “more counseling for the general population about the need to moderate intake of caffeinated beverages”.
