Australian health statistics in 2012 make awful reading
The 2012 Australian Institute of Health and Welfare report on nutrition and dietary habits has just confirmed again that Australians are making all the wrong choices for their health, and ending up sicker, younger because of it.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare report found:
- More than 60% of Australian adults are overweight or obese
- 25% of Australian children aged 2-16 are overweight or obese
- Almost 30% of the average household food budget is spent on junk-food
- The average Australian family spends more each week on alcohol than on fruit and vegetables
